The Asian Society for Regenerative Medicine (ASRM) is bringing together an international faculty of physicians, scientists, researchers, and healthcare innovators for the ASRM 3rd Annual Convention, taking place on 24 October 2026 at Sheraton Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
Under the theme “Redefining Longevity and Regenerative Medicine,” this year’s convention will create a platform for scientific exchange, multidisciplinary learning, and conversations around emerging developments in regenerative medicine, longevity, gene and cell therapies, cancer diagnostics, preventive health, and responsible clinical innovation.
At the centre of the programme are two distinguished featured speakers—Dr. Patrick Sewell and Dr. Olivia Lesslar—whose careers bring together clinical medicine, scientific research, emerging biotechnology, and new approaches to understanding health, disease, ageing, and human resilience.
Featured Speaker: Dr. Patrick Sewell
Dr. Patrick Sewell, MD brings more than three decades of experience spanning interventional radiology, cancer research, regenerative medicine, minimally invasive therapies, and the development of gene and cell-based approaches.
His work sits at the intersection of imaging, oncology, biotechnology, and regenerative science. Throughout his career, Dr. Sewell has worked on minimally invasive image-guided procedures and emerging treatment technologies, while increasingly focusing on the potential applications of gene therapy in cancer, regenerative medicine, and longevity. His professional background also includes the development of radiation-reduction imaging approaches and work involving robotic surgical systems for NASA.
Dr. Sewell’s continuing engagement in scientific research can also be seen in his recent work. In 2026, a review co-authored by Sewell and Christopher Jensen on hyaluronidase-enhanced delivery in gene therapy and regenerative medicine was accepted by Frontiers in Drug Delivery, examining approaches that may improve the delivery of vectors, cells, and therapeutic cargo.
His earlier academic work includes research in interventional radiology and oncology, while more recent clinical publications have explored image-guided approaches to complex oncologic conditions.
At the ASRM 3rd Annual Convention, Dr. Sewell brings a perspective shaped by decades of clinical and research experience and by his continuing interest in how advanced technologies may influence the future of regenerative and precision medicine.

Featured Speaker: Dr. Olivia Lesslar
Dr. Olivia Ly Lesslar, MBBS, BIR, is an Australian medical doctor internationally recognised for her work across psychoneuroimmunology, longevity medicine, complex conditions, and interdisciplinary approaches to health.
Her academic background is itself multidisciplinary. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, together with a Bachelor of International Relations with studies spanning diplomacy, French, and international relations. She has also undertaken postgraduate study in clinical nutrition management, dermatology, and skin cancer medicine.
Dr. Lesslar’s work explores the relationships between the nervous system, immune function, behaviour, environment, physiology, and the body’s adaptive responses. Rather than viewing health through a single biological pathway, her approach considers how multiple systems interact—particularly when addressing complex or multifactorial health conditions.
She currently holds academic appointments as Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Griffith University’s National Centre for Neuroimmunology and Emerging Diseases and Faculty Lecturer at the Geneva College of Longevity Science. Her wider career includes leadership and advisory roles across international organisations working in longevity, biotechnology, neurotechnology, functional medicine, and related fields.
Her academic contributions include peer-reviewed research involving transcranial magnetic stimulation, post-concussive syndrome, major depressive disorder, food allergy, neuro-oncology, post-COVID conditions, and neuroimmune health.
She has also spoken internationally on psychoneuroimmunology, longevity, mitochondrial health, the mind-body relationship, and the evolutionary factors that influence modern health. Her 2025 seven-city Australia and New Zealand speaking tour introduced her framework examining ancient survival threats and their relationship to contemporary chronic disease.
For ASRM delegates, Dr. Lesslar brings a perspective that expands the regenerative medicine conversation beyond individual treatments—towards understanding the interconnected systems that influence resilience, healthspan, neurological function, and ageing.

Dr. Michael Tan Hong Jin
Dr. Michael Tan Hong Jin is the Founder of Life Research Wellness Pte. Ltd. and a naturopathy practitioner whose work focuses on preventive health and early predictive health management.
His personalised approach incorporates targeted supplementation, bioenergy balancing, music therapy, detoxification, stress management, and lifestyle strategies. His participation adds another dimension to the convention’s discussion on how prevention and individualised health management can contribute to healthier ageing and long-term well-being.
Dr. Cecil Wong
Dr. Cecil Wong, President of the Asian Society for Regenerative Medicine, brings decades of medical experience together with a strong interest in preventive, functional, regenerative, and longevity medicine.
A trained obstetrician and gynaecologist, Dr. Wong subsequently expanded his professional focus into disease prevention, metabolic health, hormone optimisation, regenerative approaches, and personalised longevity medicine. Through his leadership of ASRM, he continues to advocate education, interdisciplinary exchange, and responsible advancement of regenerative medicine across the region.
Dr. Steven Fang, PhD, MBA
Dr. Steven Fang, PhD, MBA, is Co-Founder and Executive Director of InvitroCue and brings more than two decades of experience in biotechnology and the life sciences.
His work focuses on personalised oncology, advanced cancer testing, and patient-derived technologies intended to provide clinicians with additional information when evaluating treatment strategies. His perspective will contribute to discussions around early detection, patient selection, preventive care, and the movement towards more individualised cancer management.
Kurt Wee
Kurt Wee, Founder and CEO of Celligenics, brings a biotechnology and industry perspective to the convention.
His work focuses on the development of stem cell-derived and regenerative technologies with potential applications in tissue repair, recovery, and healthy longevity. Through Celligenics, he is involved in efforts to translate developments in regenerative science into practical biotechnology solutions.
Dr. Naomi Hoshiko
Joining the faculty from Japan is Dr. Naomi Hoshiko, Director of Hoshiko Clinic in Tokyo.
A graduate of Tokyo Women’s Medical University School of Medicine, she later earned her Doctor of Medicine from Kumamoto University. Her credentials include certification in radiology as well as qualifications related to clinical anti-ageing medicine and integrated ageing care. She has also authored eight books on health and nutrition and has been recognised for contributions to preventive medicine.
Her multidisciplinary approach brings together conventional medicine, preventive health, nutrition, lifestyle guidance, supplementation, and complementary approaches—adding another valuable perspective to the convention’s discussion of healthier ageing.
Dr. Izumi Kamijo
Dr. Izumi Kamijo, PhD, brings a distinctive interdisciplinary background spanning philosophy of science, biophysics, scientific instrumentation, biotechnology, and cancer research.
Educated at Keio University in Japan and universities in Frankfurt and Freiburg, Germany, Dr. Kamijo has participated in R&D collaborations involving biophoton research and its potential applications in medical diagnostics, as well as structural-analysis technologies used in biological research.
His professional background also includes approximately 20 years of cancer research and cancer-therapy development, previous leadership of DifluMed Pharmaceuticals GmbH in Germany, and work involving pH-sensitive approaches to cancer therapy. He currently serves as CEO of Ely LLC in Tokyo.
Dr. Quincy Raya
Dr. Quincy Raya will also join the convention as a resource speaker, contributing her experience in preventive, regenerative, integrative, and longevity medicine to the programme.
Dr. Raya has undertaken training in areas including anti-ageing medicine, preventive medicine, nutritional medicine, and men’s health, complementing the convention’s wider discussion around prevention, healthy ageing, and patient optimisation.
